Lyminge Youth Action
Firstly, in case you missed the
news last month, thanks to a
commitment of funds from
Lyminge Parish Council, we
have now reached the target for
redeveloping the playgrounds on
both Tayne Field and Jubilee Field!
What a great start to the summer!
The Parish Council is currently in
discussion with the contractor with
regards to when work will start. We
will continue to update you on the
progress.
Secondly, thank you to everyone
who visited our stall at the Summer
Fayre last month. We raised £42.50
for the park.
And finally, we’d like to wish
everyone a wonderful, happy
summer. We can’t wait to see the
parks come to life and enjoy them
with you all in the near future.

Letters to the Editor
We’re very grateful....
Dear Residents
My partner and I are avid bee keepers of 14 years standing.
This year because of the early onset of the glorious weather we are enjoying, our fuzzy friends have been
swarming much earlier than usual.
Our policy is to collect local swarms and give them a new home where they can continue to thrive.
We do not make any charge for this service; it is purely for the benefit of the bees, for without them and
their friends we, as a race, could not survive.
To date we have had over 20 swarm shouts from various forums locally. Sadly, for whatever reason, some do
not survive, and some have moved on before we arrive. This is unfortunate but it is nature.
We would like to take this opportunity to tender a massive thank you to all of you for taking the time to call
us and give us the chance to save these wonderful creatures.
Please continue to help us if you can for which we are eternally grateful. Tel :07961936399 for future contacts.
Warmest regards Simone

Vandalism at the Library Carpark
Can you pleaase help to identify the culprits of two acts of vandalism at the lower part of the Library Carpark next
to the bus shelter.
The first one happened on the weekend of 9 & 10 July. It was the removal of all the pin magnets from the back
of the Lyminge Historical Society (LHS) notice board where the public are allowed to display their posters. All the
posters on the board (about 18) fell to the ground. Public posters will no longer be displayed in the carpark as the
LHS cannot afford to keep replacing magnets that are stolen.
The second attack was on the evening of Friday 15th July and involved the Council’s pamphlet dispenser attached
to the notice board. The lid was broken and thrown on the ground by the bus shelter with several pamphlets
being torn up and spread around the bus shelter and old post office.
If anyone has information regarding this vandalism please contact our KCC Community Warden Gary Harrison
on 07977 982185.
Thank you for your help.
